As I was looking at all the names of the roses, I saw what I thought was a family off in the distance but when I looked at it closer…it was pumpkin headed scarecrows.
It was actually kinda creepy and as I got closer I realized it was donated by local dentist office and there were signs around their necks talking about teeth brushings and flossing. Yea, seeing a pumpkin with pipe cleaner teeth in the shape of large triangles is really going to make my kids want to brush their teeth so much more…then there was one with a toothbrush in its hands holding it front of its body looking like it was doing something rather dirty with it. HA!
So as I walked along, I notice one of those large cut out signs that you stick your head in to take pictures…it was something that they had at Halloween…the scarecrow trail. Next to said sign was this thing…a collection of bones and sticks and clothing scraps.
I had a disturbing Blair Witch Project flashback for as moment until I looked through the woods as I was trying to decide how much further in the woods I really wanted to go when I saw yet another group of pumpkin head people. They looked like they had snuck up on me and had been spying through the foliage…at this time I had come to the precipice of my adventure at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens. It was time to go!
As I quickly backtracked on the trail, the wind blew leaves and such in a way that slightly sounded like footsteps and while no one was looking I did a quick skipping walk thing until I saw other people and my car. Such a relief again!!!! I tried to talk a few friends into coming and walking with me through the trail as I’m sure there was other strangeness to discover in some woods guarded by a bewitching gargoyle of sorts!!!
